"Fayette County School district in Lexington, KY currently serves 42,000+ students and has 39 elementary schools. I would like to get started by piloting this program in 2 of our schools. I feel that teaching students how to ride a bicycle and about bicycle safety in Kindergarten is a huge life skill. Our city is a wonderful bike community with lots of bike lanes and trails. I have seen the huge impact this has had in Seattle Public schools and would like to be the first district in Kentucky to have bikes in all of our elementary schools." Fayette County School District is seeking support for a complete Kindergarten PE Program, including a fleet of 48 Strider AKB-Specific bikes, helmets, pedal conversion kits, 2 Strider 20-inch bikes for teacher instruction, 4 steel rolling storage racks, and curriculum.
