About Laurel Elementary School

"Laurel Elementary School serves a diverse population of minority students and families who don't always have access to basic needs and resources, or opportunities to provide their children with enriching activities. We work diligently each year to provide these for our students through clubs, assemblies, and extended learning program, but due to budget constraints, we are not always successful to reach all students to the extent we would like.

Laurel has wanted to implement a bike program as part of the physical education program for several years and we strongly believe that in doing so, it will give students the chance to build confidence and trust alongside learning a new skill. We are working to implement a healthy living program during the 2022-23 school year and feel that encouraging students to get active in a new way will support building healthy habits that are sustainable for years to come." - Community School Coordinator, Ashley G

Laurel Elementary School is seeking support for a complete Kindergarten PE Program, including a fleet of 30 Strider AKB-Specific Bikes, helmets, pedal conversion kits, one Strider 20 Bike for teacher instruction, and curriculum.
