"Biking is a lifetime activity. The earlier that we can get our scholars active, the better chance that they will remain active as they get older. With the increasing popularity of video games and computers, many of our scholars resort to those activities when they are at home. When asked if they knew how to ride a bike, the majority of our kindergartners said "no", or they were too scared. Hearing this I decided to look at a recent news report of a school in our area who just began their program. I thought, our scholars need this. There are many areas for our scholars to ride within the community. The urban setting allows for the perfect backdrop for our scholars to ride and enjoy. Looking back on my childhood, I loved and still enjoy riding. I have the utmost confidence that our scholars would enjoy this opportunity to learn how to ride and have the skills necessary to continue being active throughout life."- PE Teacher, Fred O.
