About Sharon Elementary School

"Sharon Elementary School is a Title 1 school. Many of our students can't afford to buy a bicycle which makes it even more difficult to learn how to ride a bicycle. I want to be able to teach my students the skills needed to ride a bike so once they mastered it this skill will stays with the child for their lifetime. Beyond a few scraped knees, learning to ride a bike will provide my student with confidence, independence, and physical and mental strength. Gross motor skills improve by working on coordination, endurance and strengthening. Riding a bicycle also helps with full body sensory awareness along with visual stimulation. I will help my students with their attention and focusing on the task given to them. Lastly, it is pure joy being able to ride a bicycle."- PE Teacher, Catharine P.

Sharon Elementary School is seeking support for a complete Kindergarten PE Program, including a fleet of 24 Strider AKB-Specific Bikes, helmets, pedal conversion kits, one Strider 20-inch Bike for teacher instruction, and curriculum.
