About Wallingford Elementary

"Wallingford is a small town school that lacks some of the staffing and financial resources of bigger schools. The all kids bike grant would give us another tool to teach our kids a life skill and help us build positive momentum for a culture of health and physical activity at our school. Some of our students walk or ride to school and this would allow us to equip all students with the skills and safety awareness to do this throughout their elementary school time. Building trust with parents around this basic and fun childhood skill would be an added benefit to our school community. Finally, as a PE teacher I split time between this and another small school so this grant would benefit 2 school communities as I will transport bikes back and forth to ensure all students in both schools get a chance to learn this skill." Wallingford Elementary School is seeking support for a complete Kindergarten PE Program, including a fleet of 24 Strider AKB-Specific Bikes, helmets, pedal conversion kits, one Strider 20-inch Bike for teacher instruction, and curriculum.
