About Belle Valley School District

"Hello my name is Matt Weiler and I've been the K-4 PE teacher at Belle Valley school in Belleville, IL for 10 years now. I want start by saying I love my job and the children that I have the privilege to teach everyday. What I love most about my job is that I get to introduce new skills and ways to be active to over 500 students.

I strive every year to introduce them to as many things possible. We cover all your traditional units, but I like to think outside of the box and try new things with them. Some of which include roller skating, cup stacking, dance, bowling, golf, working with heart rate monitors to name a few. I would love to add cycling to this list for my students.

We always preach that they should try everything and that "can't" is a "bad word" and that instead we CAN TRY!(that's what the t stands for :)) Our school also connects to a community bike trail that goes all over town. With that said I usually only see one or two bikes parked outside by student bike riders. I'd like to change that and introduce a skill to all of my students that can be used for a lifetime of fitness and health. Thanks for your time and consideration!" PE Teacher, Matt W.
