About Boston Public Schools

"The Office of Health and Wellness leads the district’s efforts to implement a Whole Child (WSCC) approach by coordinating and evaluating the Wellness Policy implementation. We collaborate across Academics, Accountability, and Operations & Safety to build the capacity of schools to implement health-related policies, create safe, healthy, and welcoming school environments, and deliver high-quality instruction, programs, and services to students and families. This includes implementing Multi-tiered Systems of Supports (MTSS) and the HUB Community Schools strategy. We lead district direction on tier 1 Social Emotional Learning (SEL), Physical Education (PE) and Health Education (HE) strategy, curriculum, and practices. We provide school supports to ensure every child, in every classroom, in every school, has access to high-quality health education, physical education & physical activity, and SEL instruction, aligned with CLSP.

We would love to add a class set of the Strider bikes to our PE Lending Library system, which serves all schools in the BPS school district. We rotate the equipment packs centrally using our BPS PE van and support implementation of the units through our PE Instructional Coaches. Here is a sample of our current units: PE Lending Library." Jessica G., Physical Education Director

Boston Public Schools is seeking support for a complete Kindergarten PE Program, including a fleet of 24 Strider AKB-Specific bikes, helmets, pedal conversion kits, 1 Strider 20-inch bike for teacher instruction, 2 steel rolling storage racks, and curriculum.
