About Brumby Elementary
“Learning to ride a bike is an important piece of a child’s development, yet many students at Brumby Elementary School report that they have not learned to ride. Brumby Elementary School in Marietta, Georgia is a Title I school that serves over 1,000 regular and special needs students, pre-k through 5th grade. Bike riding not only helps kids develop motor coordination, strength, and endurance, it also empowers them, builds self-esteem, and gives them a sense of independence. During the holidays, our community partners often make bike donations, yet many of our students are unable to appreciate these generous gifts because they don’t know how to ride them. The Kindergarten PE bike program would allow us to help kids reach this important childhood milestones. Over 300 students could benefit from this opportunity, and we’d love to offer and after-school Learn-to-Ride club to our students to promote this healthy and wholesome form of recreations.” PE teacher, Lilly H.
