About Elgin Math & Science Academy

"Other than providing our students with this lifelong skill and freedoms that come with knowing how to ride a bike, this program will be a positive link between fitness/movement and scholar successes in the classroom. Being able to offer this opportunity to our kinder students annually will support our larger goal of giving our students the resources to safely ride outside on their own whether it be recreationally or competitively. 

These bikes would serve as the start to something much bigger on our 27 acre campus. We have a goal of graduating our scholars from Strider bikes in the gym to mountain bikes on our campus-wide trail system that is currently only used for hiking. The introduction to learning to ride a bike also opens the opportunities for our students to participate in our local community as we have a local BMX track as well as two mountain bike trail systems within 5 miles of our campus." Elgin Math & Science Elementary School is seeking support for a complete Kindergarten PE Program, including a fleet of 27 Strider AKB-Specific bikes, helmets, pedal conversion kits, one Strider 20-inch bike for teacher instruction, 2 steel rolling storage racks, and curriculum.
