About Greentree Elementary School

"We believe this program would be of great benefit to our students, their families and our community. By teaching students the importance of staying active at such a young age and equipping them with the tools of knowing how to ride a bike, students will establish healthy exercise habits that are likely to stay with them for life. Not only will this program support our student’s physical health, students will also reap mental health benefits from learning how to ride a bike.

These social emotional benefits are gained through the teaching process, where students will practice communication and social skills while building full body sensory awareness along with visual stimulation. These skills are critical in helping students attend and focus more in the classroom and at home. Our student population is very diverse and not all families have the means or the time to devote to teaching their child to ride a bike. By bringing this program to our school we will help all students grow in confidence by teaching them they are capable of accomplishing great things!" Principal Tamara B.

Greentree Elementary School is seeking support for a complete Kindergarten PE Program, including a fleet of 24 Strider AKB-Specific bikes, helmets, pedal conversion kits, one Strider 20-inch bike for teacher instruction, 2 steel rolling storage racks, and curriculum.
