"As a physical education teacher I strongly agree with Jordan Carlson, Ph.D., professor of pediatrics at Children’s Mercy Kansas City and chair of the 2024 United States Report Card on Physical Activity for Children and Youth, who recently stated, “Human bodies were designed to move and be active, but modern society has made life more sedentary. We need to re-engineer our environments and routines to build activity back in.”

Given this, the impetus in applying for this grant is rooted in my quest to get our youngest of learners prepared for and trained in riding a bicycle. Even more, I hope this experience will inspire them to remain physically active and enjoy the outdoors in their daily routines." PE Teacher, Spencer F. 

JDG Elementary School is seeking support for a complete Kindergarten PE Program, including a fleet of 25 Strider AKB-Specific bikes, helmets, pedal conversion kits, 1 Strider 20-inch bike for teacher instruction, 2 steel rolling storage racks, and curriculum.
