"Kate Smith is a Title 1 school in Sparks Nevada. We are a walking school with no busses. Many of our students either walk or ride their bikes to school. We currently do not have a PE teacher, and PE is completed by either an aide or the classroom teacher. We feel that all our students deserve Physical Education and new experiences. Our hope at Kate Smith is to teach to the whole child through academics, kindness, hands on activities and healthy lifestyles. We think that this would impact our school community by making more of our students active and engaged in play. Our fifth-grade robotics team created a PSA focusing on getting more students outdoors and we feel that this program would benefit what we are trying to accomplish." Principal, Amanda S.
