About Parr Elementary

"A "Learning to Ride a Bike" program at our school can greatly benefit students by promoting physical fitness, coordination, and confidence. It will introduces basic cycling skills such as balancing, steering, and pedaling in a safe and supportive environment. The program will include a step-by-step approach, starting with balance bikes and gradually moving to pedal bikes as students build confidence.

Additionally, it will teach essential safety rules, like wearing helmets and understanding traffic signals, which are crucial for road awareness. A program such as this not only fosters independence and a sense of achievement but also encourages a healthy, active lifestyle among students. It can be integrated into our physical education classes or offered as an after-school activity, making learning fun and engaging." PE Teacher, Jason G.

Parr Elementary School is seeking support for a complete Kindergarten PE Program, including a fleet of 24 Strider AKB-Specific bikes, helmets, pedal conversion kits, 1 Strider 20-inch bike for teacher instruction, 2 steel rolling storage racks, and curriculum.
