About Rover Elementary

"Rover is a neighborhood with almost 60% of our student body living near it. Most students walk or scooter to school as many don't know how to ride a bicycle. It is my job as our schools physical education teacher to teach students lifelong healthy activities/skills such as bike riding. Many if not all of our kindergartners families cannot afford bicycles for their children so having them in PE would be a wonderful way to provide them that opportunity to learn and experience them.

Learning bike safety at a young age will instill good habits early on, ensuring that children understand the importance of wearing helmets, following traffic rules, and being aware of their surroundings. Lastly, teaching bike safety in a small neighborhood school can create a sense of community, as parents, teachers, and students work together to ensure the children's safety and well-being." PE Teacher, Lance D.

Rover Elementary School is seeking support for a complete Kindergarten PE Program, including a fleet of 30 Strider AKB-Specific bikes, helmets, pedal conversion kits, one Strider 20-inch bike for teacher instruction, 2 steel rolling storage racks, and curriculum.
