"Riding a bike offers many benefits for children & adults alike including health, safety, & social skills. When kids bike to school, it gives their bodies a chance to wake up resulting in better focus & school engagement. In our school community, several students walk to school. Knowing how to ride a bike can promote road safety. Learning the rules of the road as a child is knowledge that will stick with children their whole lives.

Identifying traffic signs, knowing how to use crosswalks and obeying traffic lights are just a few examples that can keep kids safe when riding. A child's overall mood is boosted, and their minds are clear from getting physical activity resulting in better academic achievement which will benefit our at-risk community." Sam Houston Elementary School is seeking support for a complete Kindergarten PE Program, including a fleet of 24 Strider AKB-Specific bikes, helmets, pedal conversion kits, one Strider 20-inch bike for teacher instruction, 2 steel rolling storage racks, and curriculum.
