About Sarah Roberts Elementary

"The Sarah Roberts Elementary School, a Title I K to 6 Boston Public School, is a newly merged community bringing together the former Philbrick Elementary School and Sumner Elementary School in the building that once housed the Washington Irving Middle School. Named in honor of Sarah Roberts, a young African American girl whose bravery helped ignite the fight for educational justice, the school stands firmly on the values of equity, dignity, and determination. These principles guide our daily work and reflect our ongoing commitment to honoring her legacy and advancing true educational equality for all students.

The Sarah Roberts Elementary School offers a vibrant Spanish Dual Language program, providing students with powerful opportunities for bilingualism, biliteracy, and cross-cultural understanding. The school also provides specialized education programming for students with Specific Learning Disabilities, ensuring individualized support, meaningful access to learning, and equitable academic growth. Together, our unified community is building a nurturing, empowering, and inclusive environment where every student is seen, supported, and inspired to thrive." Superintendent, Dr. Weeks

Sarah Roberts Elementary School is seeking support for a complete Kindergarten PE Program, including a fleet of 24 Strider AKB-Specific bikes, helmets, pedal conversion kits, 1 Strider 20-inch bike for teacher instruction, 2 steel rolling storage racks, and curriculum.
