About Victoria Elementary

Victoria Elementary is a neighborhood school with decent bicycling infrastructure as well as open parks and beaches nearby. However, many children lack proper training in bicycling, and/or come from families with limited means to support cycling as a skill, sport, and efficient mode of transport. We believe an early education in cycling makes children healthier physically and mentally. Cycling is a lifelong skill, and should be learned early. If we get kindergarteners on striders, our school will see more children in grades 1-6 riding bicycles to school as a result. This grant would help us achieve that goal, and also support the growth of a cycling-supportive culture at our school and in the larger community. 

Victoria Elementary School is seeking support for a complete Kindergarten PE Program, including a fleet of 20 Strider AKB-Specific bikes, helmets, pedal conversion kits, 1 Strider 20-inch bike for teacher instruction, 2 steel rolling storage racks, and curriculum.
