About Woodward Elementary

"Our student population is extremely diverse: culturally, social-economically, and racially. Our city is also diverse, and encourages health, fitness and the arts in many ways. They have even begun to construct many new bike lanes throughout the city in order to accommodate and promote bike safety and encourage biking as a more common mode of transportation. 

Because our students come from all different circumstances, learning to ride a bike is not as much of a given as it may be in other communities in our state. Incorporating learning how to ride, as well as bike safety into our physical education classes at school would be a great benefit to our students, and the overall health and safety of our town." Woodward Elementary School is seeking support for a complete Kindergarten PE Program, including a fleet of 24 Strider AKB-Specific bikes, helmets, pedal conversion kits, 1 Strider 20-inch bike for teacher instruction, 2 steel rolling storage racks, and curriculum.
